Shanghai Tower – Tall and Proud

China has been at the centre of attraction of the world over for various reasons, the Shanghai tower being one among them. Standing almost 632 meters high this is the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world. This grand structure is located in the financial district and consists of 127 floors which include 5 podium floors as well as the observation deck on the 119th floor. Visitors take the express elevator up to this floor to enjoy the views from above. Giving an expansive view of the city, it is one of the exciting visitor activities to do while in Shanghai. The city is surrounded by sky scrapers alike, even though not tall as the Shanghai tower, they too make up the impressive skyline of Shanghai. Even though there are various visitors coming to see the towers, the accommodation options available in the area are more suited for business traveler with many a serviced apartment in Shanghai that could be found concentrated around this area.

The exterior of the building resembles a snake. The structure takes into account the wind strength and has a little twist of about one degree per floor and it spirals upwards, given that Shanghai often faces Typhoons. Even though it is an eye-catching landmark, the Shanghai Tower is subdivided into five areas according to functionality. There are 24-hour functioning offices for multinationals, super five star hotels and support facilities, high-end retail shops, recreation zones among others. This has created a new buzz for what was once only a business district and would seem dead after the work hours. Due to the entertainment options within the towers, there are quite a number of visitors who come here even later during the day to enjoy a meal or go to the casino. There are options to find accommodation within the tower or else there are serviced apartments such as Ascott Huai Hai Road Shanghai present in the close proximity. Whether you are a business traveller or a leisure traveller a visit to the tower is highly recommended.
